ABOUT FUKUTSU MARTIAL ARTS
Where East meets West
The style of martial arts is karate. Karate is a Japanese martial art that means 'empty hand.' Karate is an art of self-defence that uses the arms and legs.
Purpose of Classes​
Classes for physical fitness, developing confidence and resilience, co-ordination as well as self-defence.

Classes focus on:

flexibility, balance, co-ordination, reaction and fitness training

kicking, punching, blocking and striking techniques
-
kata training (sequence of movements)
-
self-defence techniques
-
partner drills
-
controlled sparring
TIMETABLE
Classes are held once a week for 8 years old and above

MEET OUR INSTRUCTOR
Peter Robinson

Has trained in karate in New Zealand, Japan and London. Graded black belt in karate in Tokyo, Japan. Graded black belt in tae kwon do. Participated in the 2011 British Wado-ryu Karate-do Shikukai Nationals. Trained at Boxing Clinic in London.
Qualified New Zealand primary school teacher, Certificate IV in Personal Training, Certificate III in Fitness, First Aid Certificate, Thump Boxing Level 1 & Advanced Boxing Instructor course.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I wear?
Exercise gear. A uniform (white gi which is a white jacket and white trousers) and belt when you are ready to make the commitment.

What level of fitness do I need?
Any level, beginners are most welcome.

How much are lessons?
First two lessons are free. Ask instructor for lesson price details.
